Football

Yesterday afternoon was the first little league football game that my husband helps coach...what a game! the little guys won 13-0, this is the first time in 3 years that they have won a game..They played Grant County, and it was so Hot out and humid but those early guys hung in there and became the victor....The cheerleaders cheered their team on even the hot humid weather couldnt keep them down.... "GO PENDLETON COUNTY PANTHERS" I failed to mention that they are 3rd and 4th graders! Are grandaughters team didnt do so well they lost , they did score one touchdown...but the cheerleaders hung in there..( some of them) This was the 5th and 6th graders....

Baptism

The most beautifull site in the world to me was yesterday when are son Lonnie, baptized his younger brother Eric....It was done at the begining of Church...There was a feeling in the church that I have never felt before and I really can not explain it now.....All I know is it was awsome...

Boat or not to Boat!

As some of you know we lived in Florida for five years..( myself and my husband)..just moved back this past April...While living in Florida, we decided to purchase a BOAT!...18ft..Bow Rider, set seven people/or nine hundred pounds which ever came first...First
trip out in boat was my husband and my cousin into Gulf of Mexico about 6 miles out...everything was fine they said...The next trip out our son (Jimmy) his family had came down on vacation...so they decided they ( husband and son) were going to take boat out and fish..RIGHT!..About an hour or so into them leaving I get this phone call from our daughter crying ,(she had called our cell phone as she thought we had all went boating) her dad answered the cell phone and yelled I cant talk were taking on water... and your mom isnt here....she called my house screeming and crying trying to tell me what was going on...I told her to hang up..I tried calling cell phone no answer by this time I was nervous...so my daughter in law and kids jumped into the van and we went to where they put the boat in..there they were, Stanley, Jimmy, one boat and two strange men putting the boat onto the trailer...so I hurried and called our daughter and told her everything was fine...They who I mean by they ( Stanley and Jimmy) had taken the boat out ,were 4 miles out in the channel, taking on water, remembered they didnt put plug in....tried to put plug in , dropped plug into water...boat stulled out...couldnt get it started...these two strange men had to tow them back to shore/dock...Happy ending...

A Warning

I wanted to talk about three of my children here today...Jimmy, Lonnie and Eric; but I was warned not too...I wanted to talk about them growing up and so on and so forth, but again I was warned firmly not too...I dont know what they thought I would say about them...But it seems like they were afraid very afraid....I was going to mentioned about Eric when he was 7 years old telling his grandmother that Lonnie had been hit by a Van! (well he had been, a toy van that Eric threw at him).....Then the time grandma called out to the house, ( now we lived in Peachgrove which was a toll call for grandma who lived in Dayton) Lonnie answered the phone and she asked Is your mom home?...Lonnie said yes...then hung up on her..My mom called back said why did you hang up on me? Lonnies answer( well you just asked if mom was home not to talk to her)....talk about a mad grandma!...Then there was the time Jimmy was in band and forgot his belt so they had to use a rope for a belt so he wouldnt loose his pants during band competition..I could go on and on but I think I have said enough for right now....I will save the rest for another time.....

WAR BUDDY

When my hubby was in the Army, he was stationed in Korea for a year then sent to Vietnam he was in Nam from 1965-1966..while in Korea and Vietnam he had three special friends, Bob Brown, John (Jack) Reed, and Dicky Woods...After the being sent home after their tour of duty they went their seperate ways..all I heard was the names of these three over and over for years. One night in 2000 while sitting at the computer stanley asked me to look and see if Phrang Rhang Vietnam still had the air strip which he helped build, don't ask why he asked, but he did..So I started looking..I got into a Web Site called VetsHome.com..I'm just strolling through this site and came upon a name (Bob Brown) so I sent him and email...Low and Behold..I get this email back with a picture attached! Yep you guessed 33 years later and on a computer I found Bob Brown! I just set there and screemed..Finaly calmed down enough to tell Stanley...I got off computer cause Bob was going to call Stan...well he did and they talked for an hour...we kept in contact then in 2001 we lost all contact with him...Well that same year we decided to move to Florida after my husband had lost three toes to type 2 diabetes from the spraying of Agent Orange in Viet nam.. and was now military disabled 100% plus social security disabled...we got settle in and Stan asked me to see if I could find Bob once again, they were in Oklahoma when we last had contact...Well I found him and his wife they were living in Tampa Florida! Yep thats right 20 minutes from us in Clearwater..What a reunion After 35 years and each thinking the other was dead they were once again reunited...after a few years we found John (Jack) and we have kept in touch with him by phone he lives in Virginia...But we never found Dickie Woods...It just goes to show the computer isn't all that bad....

Gone Shopping

Today my daughter-in-law asked if I would go school clothes shopping with her and the three girl..Oh my! We started out going to Wally-World!, but quickly changed our minds..and decided to drive about another 3 miles and go to Kohls..Have any of you ever shopped with three girls or even try to shop with three girls, well believe me its a trip ...we tried on jeans after jeans to get the right fit... jeans were flying in all directions in the dressing rooms...shirts/blouses we knew the size....But the jeans were another story, jeans that fit the waist were too long in the legs, jeans that fit the length were to tight in the butt....finally after about six different trys, we actually found jeans to fit....Hurray!!!! Then we left Kohls and went back to Wally-world since it was the same direction we had to take to go home...We arrive at Wally-World, and low and behold what is there to greet us the (Golden Arches) if you don't know what they are its McDonalds...All of a sudden the girls didnt want to shop for school clothes anylonger it was hamburger time...So we convinced them that after Wally-World we would go to McDonals they were fine....We spend one hour in Wally-World then off to McDonalds for Happy Meals, Happy Kids, and worn out mother and grandma...After everyone had eaten we headed back home with three happy girls and one tired mother and one extremly tired grandma...But it was fun.....

The Long Road Home

I was sitting here thinking about living in Florida for the last five years, and all the friends that I had made...The five years I lived there I met a lot of people, good people, I really didnt think I would miss them but it turns out I do....I met people from all over, people from Canada, New York, Pittsburg, Minn., Ohio, New Hamp., Boston, Wis.,...and Greece...There was a place we would go too every morning ( yes every morning) and eat breakfast...sometimes even dinner it was called Peters Family Resturant... it was ran by a Greek family (Pete) is what everyone called him...Kids loved him..and if i ever get a chance to go back to Florida I am heading straight for Petes!..., hoping he is still there...Well now I am back home in Kentucky (where really I belong) with my kids and grandkids ..who I missed even more.....It was a long journey but finally made it home...Florida is a nice place to visit , but I dont want to live there....Theres No Place like Home....

well today was a grandpa, grandaughter day out, well sort of.our grandaughter kennedy is going to play soccer, so grandpa decided he would take her and get her soccer shoes,on his way to the sporting goods store he stopped in alexsandria and got our other grandaughter who is 15 and plays soccer for Bishop-Brossart her name is Alexis...well it is a good thing he did, as Lexi knew exactly what she needed...Not only did she get shoes, but she got soccer shorts, shin- guards and socks...then grandpa took them both to eat lunch...you know they say "grandchildren complete the circle of love" and we have 18 of those circles plus 4 knots...

CHURCH

Do you ever wonder why in church some people are rude? This sunday while church was begining, a very nice lady was singing are first song of the opening of our service...Well I was trying to focus and listen, there were adults on the side of me and in back of me trying there best too over ride the lady singing....after a few not very nice looks from yours truly they finally shut up!....Now maybe I could understand this if they had been children, but no, they were just adults acting like children...some people just have no respect.. But it was Gods house and he forgave them, but I still had trouble listening to the lady singing, maybe she should have sing a little louder...

Friends

Friends Well here I am back again, thinking about my time in the first grade, ( trying to remember back that far) frankly it was way back when Moby-Dick was a Minnow...No, not really that long, but long enough...I can remember this little boy who always wanted my chair..( you know the little chairs that sat up to the table, which you sat in as a first grader? Nope didnt think you would remember that far back...) This was the first time I ever got in trouble in school, the little boy took my chair (MY CHAIR) and I hit him...We both had to sit in our chairs facing the black-board...But I got my chair back and he never took it again! :)

Friends

Friends Do you ever wonder what become of your school chums! You know like the kid in kindergarden that shoved you off the slide, and the same mean little kid that broke your crayolas? or the kid who took your big fat pencil saying it was his...kindergarden was a rough year...I wonder sometimes how I even made it through it..But I did...

Looks like fun!

I guess many of you are wondering why I am doing this? Well to be honest I myself dont really know...It looks like fun, so many people are Blogging these days, so I thought what the heck, why not me....I will probably make a lot of mistakes doing this because I am not a computer whiz, but stay with me here and it should be fun.....
